I love Trader Joe's. They have unique products of good quality and a great price on nuts and dairy and basically everything.
A while ago I bought a few cans of this chili, figuring it would be good for a rainy day. Today was not rainy but it was chilly so it seemed appropriate. I grabbed the can, congratulating myself on resisting a dinner invitation and encouraging my own frugality.
As one would expect of canned chili, it crept out of the can like dog food. As one would not hope, it smelled the same. I knew some serious doctoring would be in order.
Regretting my decision to not keep tobasco on hand at all times, I dug through the fridge. Shredded cheddar, salsa, and sour cream. Perfect! I decided to eat my chili with multigrain Tostitos, which I already know I like.
Needless to say, once the accoutrements were gone, I was over this chili. Call me "not really a fan" (for Sara). No flavor at ALL. Warm, beany mush. Too bad. Could have benefited from some chunks of jalepeno or cumin....or maybe some meat.....
